Homeport celebrates our volunteers

Homeport was excited to host our first annual volunteer appreciation event on February 23rd. We held the event at our Homeport Gallery and had a great turnout of volunteers and staff. We were able to recognize the volunteer efforts for the first year of our formal volunteer program. Homeport was very excited to celebrate having almost 400 volunteers and over 6,000 volunteer hours for 2011.

Homeport also recognized a special group of volunteers who received the Presidential Service Award. We had 10 volunteers that were recognized for their outstanding service to Homeport in 2011. The volunteers who were honored this year were Alex Beim, Catherine Purdum, Daniel Petty, Jennifer Crossmon, Kelsey Bridges, Kelsi Fawley, Shara Rodney and Tyler Lemmon at the Bronze Level; Dao Hoa at the Silver Level; and Joshua Lapp at the Gold Level.

We would like to thank all of our volunteers for their continued support of Homeport and our programs. We would also like to say a special thank you to Pattycake Bakery, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, and Cheryl & Co. for donating items and gift cards to our event.
