American Addition neighborhood focus of 2012 Red Day and REALTOR® Care Day

Keller Williams Red Day

Homeport was very excited to partner with Keller Williams again this year for their annual RED Day. More than 100 Keller Williams staff volunteered for the day of service in the American Addition neighborhood. Volunteers helped plant flowers and complete landscaping projects, paint buildings, rebuild failing garages or other structures and help clean up and paint the community garden space. Keller Williams Red Day photos can be seen here.

2012 REALTOR® Care Day

For the 2012 REALTOR® Care Day (RCD), the Columbus Board of REALTORS® partnered with Homeport to improve five homes in the American Addition subdivision - all on Sampson Avenue. Their group of volunteers cleaned, repaired, painted, landscaped, fixed gutters, recarpeted porches, and installed a new shed for residents in need.

This is an annual event where central Ohio REALTORS®, affiliates, family, and friends volunteer their time to show their communities they care. With careful planning, preparation and the dedication of many volunteers, it's amazing how much can be accomplished in one day.

RCD started with one community service project in 2005. This year, there were 22 groups, 35 projects, and over 400 volunteers! Although REALTORS® donate time and talent to their communities throughout the year, this one day event focuses the energy of hundreds of volunteers in areas all over the central Ohio area.
