Are you looking for a fun way to get involved and give back? We have great opportunities for you!
Volunteering with Homeport is fun and a great way to meet new people and more importantly, invest in projects and people who need your investment.
We care about our communities and residents and want to provide the very best services and programs for them. But we can’t do it without your help! Opportunities with Homeport range from small to large and from one-day events to year-long projects. We have opportunities that fit the needs of individuals, families, service organizations and corporate teams.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS
10 volunteers to provide After School Tutoring at our community centers. As a volunteer, you will assist the children with tutoring and homework, help set up and run activities or programs, assist with daily meal distribution, and supervise children during any playtime. The children are ages 5–13. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday from 3:00–6:00pm through the end of the school year. Volunteers must be able to make a once a week commitment for a three month period.
20 volunteers to help at Bright Ideas Book Fairs for children in our affordable rental communities. Volunteers are needed in the afternoons and early evenings between December 11th and December 21st to decorate, distribute books, lead children in a seasonal craft, and serve refreshments to families. Locations are downtown Columbus, Grove City, Eastland area, and Reynoldsburg.
Four Administrative Support Volunteers in our Housing Advisory Center, Executive, Human Resources and Volunteer Services departments. Schedule and positions will vary based on the volunteer, but most positions require weekday availability.
These are just a sample of the many ways in which to get involved with Homeport and our mission to create and preserve healthy, stable and affordable communities, one neighborhood, one person at a time.
