Homeport is looking for volunteers to assist our Housing Advisory Services. Homeport is centrally located in downtown Columbus, with free parking and easy access from I-71. Our office is open between the hours of 8am and 5pm, and flexible schedules between 8 and 20 hours each week are available. Both positions would be excellent for someone who wants to gain experience transferrable to the legal, real estate, or banking industries.
Down Payment Assistance Program Assistant
The Down Payment Assistance program assistant is supervised by our Down Payment Assistance Manager, and helps our mission-driven effort to provide eligible first-time homebuyers with forgivable loans that can be used toward closing costs or a down payment on a first home. Duties include collecting and organizing client loan documents and sensitive information, contacting lenders and clients via phone and email to gather required documents, and preparing complete loan packages ready to be processed.
Save the Dream Ohio Program Assistant
The Save the Dream Ohio Program Assistant is supervised by our Loan Processor, and aids Homeport’s efforts to administer foreclosure prevention/rescue funds for Central Ohio Homeowners who have fallen behind, or at risk of falling behind on mortgage payments. The Save the Dream Ohio Program offers monetary assistance to bring clients current on their mortgages and save their homes. Duties include collecting and organizing client loan documents and sensitive information, contacting lenders and clients via phone and email to gather required documents, and preparing complete loan packages ready to be processed.
