Why are you passionate about the Homeport mission?
Homeport’s mission to create safe and affordable communities mirrors a core of my own beliefs.  We know that homeowners move far less frequently than renters, and become embedded in the neighborhood and community – and stay longer. The homeowner feels a greater stake in their neighborhood and so is also more likely to volunteer in their community. It only makes sense that people who live in a neighborhood will feel a vested interest and volunteer their time and talents to better their community.

What would you tell a friend who was considering getting involved with Homeport as a donor or volunteer?
Just come to a Homeport event – and it is likely you will find some way to volunteer your own talents to benefit the mission of Homeport and the community.

What do you feel is the most critical aspect of affordable housing in Columbus and Central Ohio?
It’s about family.  Homeport’s mission helps families accomplish the American dream of homeownership.
