Teens at George's Creek apartments joined Homeport Young Professionals in July to stuff backpacks for siblings and other kids in their community. The Homeport YPs on Aug. 10 will host its 3rd Annual Field Day at George's Creek, where they'll also distribute backpacks with supplies.
Or could it be 'four'?
Either way, a special shout out is in order to Columbus Commercial Industrial Investment Realtors (CCIIR) for organizing for the fourth consecutive year a golf outing to raise funds for Homeport. Seventeen teams of ... four ... registered for the event at North Star Golf Club. The winning score of 59 in the "Scramble" style tournament was shot by the foursome of Brian Ramey of First Federal Bank of the Midwest and Collin Wheeler, Clayton David and Andy Effler of Jones Lang LaSalle.
Homeport's commitment to "Smoke Free" residential communities has resulted in a "platinum" honor of excellence from the Ohio Department of Health. If you travel Broad Street on the East Side near Weyant Avenue, look for a billboard from the state recognizing Homeport's leadership on the issue.
Woodlands Backyard Bar & Grill in Grandview served host for a Homeport Young Professionals co-ed volleyball tournament on July 24. More than 80 YPs and friends on 13 teams battled the heat and each other to raise over $2,400 for future events benefiting children of Homeport. Special thanks to event sponsors Donald W. Kelley & Associates Inc., The Robert Weiler Company and Shremshock: Architects & Engineers.
