TWO NEW HOMEPORT BOARD MEMBERS
Homeport Senior Vice President Maude Hill on April 11 was one of seven women inducted into the Women of Achievement academy of the YWCA Columbus. Before a crowd of 2,000 at the The Greater Columbus Convention Center, Maude was recognized for her long commitment to affordable housing. "So who needs our help?" she asked the audience. "It is the working poor, the service worker, home health aides, school cafeteria workers, hard working people like you and me."
CPO SALUTES HOMEPORT
CPO Management on April 23 recognized Homeport as a most valued partner. Homeport President & CEO Bruce Luecke accepted the award at a CPO full staff retreat. CPO Management Marketing & Communication Manager Sarah Lewis said the award took into account "Homeport and CPO’s synergistic missions and core values, our long history and strong, collaborative working relationship."
NEW HOME IN WHITEHALL
Homeport is building a 1,400-square foot ranch-style home at 3819 Kenard Court in Whitehall. KMM Builders began construction of the 3-bedroom, 2-bath home on April 16. The property was provided to Homeport by the Central Ohio Community Improvement Corporation/The Franklin County Land Bank. The future home has a buyer in contract. WELCOME BACK WILL
Director of Asset Management Will Wahler returned to duty at Homeport, 14 months after his Ohio National Guard deployment took him to Iraq and Afghanistan. Among those greeting Will his first day back was Homeport Housing Advisor and former U.S. Army Sgt. Kerrick Jackson.

Carletta Upchurch, center, is the latest homeowner in Homeport's lease-option program. Ms. Upchurch closed on her house in the Greater Linden Homes development in Milo-Grogan on April 25.
