Franklin County Youth Council and the United Way of Central Ohio Neighborhood Training Academy promote 2018 February National Mental Health Awareness by conducting a Youth Mental Health First Aid workshop.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed for youth who interact with their peers and allowing them to identify mental health challenges and how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.
